We were given the task to respond to Shore's work by taking images around Thomas Tallis. Alike Shore we had to focus on line and shadow, a further key element for taking images like Shore is to carefully compose the images before taking them.
A statement to sum up the proccess would be QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. Here are the two images that I feel reflect Shore's work the best. Whilst taking both images I wanted to focus of colour, lines and composition. Initially I disliked the first image, in my opinion the colour |
These are my favourite two images that I took outside of school that are in response to Shore. In the first image I like the way that the entire left hand side is full, we see one section of one building overlap another, the right hand side sees another stretch of buildings from the other side of the street, I feel that this is reminiscent of Shore's work.
The second image shows a long empty street, this image is one of my favourites because I spent far more time composing it than any other. |
I like these images specifically because I spent the most time composing and framing, as well as the composition I managed to match up the colours in the images, this in my opinion creates a nostalgic feeling often seen in Shore's work, to improve these images I could shoot them onto 35mm film to create the authentic feel seen in Shore's work. |
