Keld Helmer-Peterson was a Danish photographer who experiments with whites and blacks, his work was heavily inspired by the works of Albert Renger-Patzsch and his works with new objectivity.
He experiments with blacks and whites within his work by removing any mid-notes. He took the images and flatbed scanners to achieve certain effects. He gained fame for becoming one of the leaders in colour photography but he has also published numerous black and white photo books of his work, the black and white images are often very abstract, even if the subject is an everyday object or a piece of industrial man made constructions that we see on a daily basis. |
The process of creating the "Black Light" is very simple, once the original image is imported into photoshop you adjust the threshold of the images, this causes the mid tones to be removed from the images creating the white and black effects.
The zine consists of at least 16 images, whilst compiling the images it is important to consider which images look good together, when the images are somewhat coherent it makes the zine look nicer. |
