Bellow are profiles of the Photographers who truly inspire me to take photographs and create pieces of art.
My favourite style of Photography is street photography. Although this style may not appeal to everybody and may appear effortless and simple I draw the entirety of my inspiration from the artists who contribute to this theme. Without them I wouldn't take photographs at all.

EDDY TEKELI
Eddy Tekeli is a photographer/artist based in Los Angles, California, his work consists of predominantly film photographs of the multi art platform collective "Odd Future" that he is a part of.
I first discovered his work in 2015 and have always looked back to his photographs for inspiration. My favourite aspect of his work is the slightly over saturated colours that appear in his images. A further element that draws me to his work is the way that he has captured the happy expressions of his subjects. He distributes his pieces on his Tumblr page. He is possibly my favourite street photographer and he almost single handidly made me more interested in shooting 35MM instead of digitally. Here are some of my favourite images by him. |
My favourite image by Tekeli is the second image in the gallery. I love the photograph because to me it feels as if he has managed to embody LA through the light colours and the spacious surroundings.
SHANE GONZALES
Shane Gonzales is a very very talented artist. He is founder and designer at his clothing brand "MIDNIGHT STUDIOS", he is tipped to be one of the best up and coming designers and is already considered to be a leader in youth culture.
Aside from his work as a designer he also is an amazing photographer, alike Tekeli a lot of his photographs are taken on film. Gonzales grew up in and was heavily influenced by the California Punk and Hardcore scene. His photography is heavily influenced by the Punk scene that he is from, the gritty images are often black and white which fits his punk aesthetic. He influences me because he has been able to bridge the gap between designer and photographer with ease. Here are a few of my favourite images by him. |
My favourite Gonzales picture is the first image, I really like the image as to me it represents a lot of the punk influence that is shown through out the artists work. The picture being black and white with lots of grey tones symbolises the punk ideology that everybody should be equal.
GUNNER STAHL
Gunner Stahl is a 24 year old Photographer from Atlanta Georgia. In the past 6 months Stahl has amassed a large following on social media, his images are very special as they show the soft, intimate and unseen moments of the hip hop community.
Since he started to follow photography as a career Stahl has released two photography books containing his images, he has also shot covers for magazines such as THE FADER. His work started to inspire me to take photographs after I watched an interview with him where he spoke about preserving moments in time, also he has taken pictures of some of my favourite musical artists. Here is some of his work. |
My favourite image by Stahl is the third picture, this photograph is very special to me as it shows the touching moment that the New York based A$AP MOB pay tribute to the deceased A$AP Yams who was a huge influence on me as an individual and many other members of the creative youth. Aside from the meanings behind the picture I feel that the light pastel blue sky compliments the light tones that fill the image for the most part.
GUCCI LOOK BOOK AT THE MILDMAY WORKING MEN'S CLUB
The recent GUCCI campaign perfectly showcases the high fashion meets reportage style of photography that I try to capture in my images. The style in which the photographs are taken is unlike most high fashion campaigns, each photograph showcases the clothes being sold by the company whilst still telling a story and capturing a moment in time.
An element of the campaign that draws me is the bright colours of the luxurious clothes set against the mundane location.
